Our founder and president, Seth Middlecamp, began his journey in the lumber industry at the age of 12. His mother, the sole heir to Mitch Lappo—pioneer of Lappo Lumber—brought Seth into the family business, where he started by sweeping floors and cleaning the warehouse. One of his favorite memories involves shooting at pigeons to keep them from pooping on the lumber; he even earned a dime per bird! 
Over time, he gained a deep knowledge of lumber, but even more importantly, he discovered a lifelong passion for the industry. Seth advanced through various roles at Lappo, becoming an expert in the field. When Lappo Lumber was acquired by Wickes, Seth saw an opportunity to create a business that prioritized community values and customer service. In 1995, he founded Sethco Lumber with a commitment to quality materials, expert guidance, and a dedication to the people he served.
